It’s Running Season… again!

It’s running season again! Fall is usually the time of year when runners really intensify their training regimen to prepare for their upcoming race. There are countless races that are just around the corner such as the Turkey Trot, Jingle Bell Run, Disney Marathon, Gasparilla Distance Classic and many more. It’s an exciting time for many, but this increase in activity is usually accompanied by a surge in foot and leg injuries. Runners are commonly affected by plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, stress fractures, blisters or toenail injuries.

In the ideal world, athletes would run pain free and beat their personal records every time they race. However, the reality is runners are often hampered by various injuries and nagging pains while training and racing.  One of the biggest reasons for a lot of these ailments is running while not having proper support for their feet.  Without good support, the arch collapses with every stride which can often lead to tendonitis, plantar fasciitis or even stress fractures. Other common issues often seen are blisters or toe injuries from ill-fitting shoe gear. Many of these problems can be addressed in the office with multiple treatment options. Our office is equipped to fit you for custom 3D scanned orthotics. We can also provide immediate relief using cortisone, PRP, Ozone or Superpulse laser!
