Tampa Podiatrist: MarShon Brooks Out with Broken Toe and Achilles Injury

The New Jersey Nets are without their rookie MarShon Brooks because of a broken or fractured pinky toe!   What happened to the myth that “.  its only a broken toe, tape it”.  Well a broken toe can be debilitating and that’s why Tampa podiatrist, Marc Katz urges his patients to be treated for toe injuries.

MarShon Brooks has not had the greatest foot luck of late.  He recently missed three games with an Achilles injury.  His talent was sorely missed as he is averaging 14.8 points per game, the second best in the NBA behind rookie, Kyrie Irving.

The Nets seem to be having their share of foot injuriesBrook Lopez is out for 6-8 weeks with a broken foot that required foot surgery.

Dr. Katz notes that these injuries also occur frequently in the casual weekend warrior athlete.  He commonly sees foot fractures, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis and arch strain.  In many cases following treatment, his patients are fitted with orthotics to correct their foot function and alignment.
